Overview
An exciting 11 days safari experience covering 4 of the most magnificent national parks in the Great Rift Valley, at an unhurried pace to discover most of Kenya’s wild and a paradise for bird lovers. You will spend two nights each in Samburu National Reserve, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and Lake Nakuru National Park, followed by three nights at Masai Mara National Reserve, the crème de la crème when it comes to Kenya safaris. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the Great Rift Valley and its escarpments.

Itinerary

Itinerary

Day1: Nairobi
On arrival at the airport, you will receive a warm welcome and thereafter transferred to the Boma Nairobi Hotel to get rest after your flight.

Day 2: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Samburu National Reserve, driving via the Mt. Kenya and Aberdare Mountains region. Arrive at Samburu in time for lunch and check in at the camp, followed later by an evening game drive and watch out for rare species unique to this Reserve such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, pancake tortoise.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve
A full day of game viewing with morning and afternoon game drives. Enjoy game and bird viewing and expect to see cheetahs, lions, leopards, impalas, buffalo, hippos, and dik-diks, as well as the native gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and Beisa oryx. There are over 350 species of birds and you are guaranteed to see a wide variety of them. Have breaks in between for breakfast, lunch, and relaxation at the lodge.

Day 4: Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast drive towards the Mount Kenya region to arrive at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in time for lunch at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. The conservancy is a rhino sanctuary and home to the black rhino and three of the remaining 5 northern white rhinos. Embark on an afternoon game drive and relax back at the camp.

Day 5: Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Sweetwaters Sanctuary
Arise for an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. Take a mid-morning visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a sanctuary to provide a lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimps from West and Central Africa. Visit the Morani information centre for insights on the conservancy and its inhabitants. Lunch at the camp and evening game drive will follow.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, leave for Lake Nakuru National Park and arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch and a game drive in the afternoon. Lake Nakuru is the world famous haunt for pink flamingoes and over 400 species of birds.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park
Wake up for an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge and spend the rest of the day at game drives and relaxing. The Park is a Rhino sanctuary that boasts of white rhinos. Other animal species to be found here include the ever elusive leopard, lions, hippos, buffalos, waterbucks, warthogs and the baboons among others.

Day 8 Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for a long drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will arrive in time for a late lunch at the Camp and then an afternoon game drive. Masai Mara offers an absolutely unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers, full of crocodiles and hippos. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons why the Masai Mara, which in fact is a continuation of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has the greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa.

Day 9: Masai Mara National Reserve
Go for an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. Relax the rest of the morning and enjoy the view onto the Mara River or take a swim in the pool! Lunch at the camp and go for another game-drive in the afternoon.

Catch the particularly dramatic spectacle from July to November, the annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and zebras. Predators such as hyenas, jackals, leopards and lions closely follow these herds. Gigantic herds of over 200 buffaloes can also be observed. Plenty of food is available for elephants, giraffes, and the many species of antelopes. Catch this spectacle if you are visiting at this time.

Day 10: Masai Mara National Reserve
Appreciate the reserve on a game drive and take a break in between for a packed lunch in the park.

Day 11: Nairobi
Depart Maasai Mara after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi for your flight back home.
